Meet HMD Skyline A Repair It Yourself Phone With 108MP Rear Camera

HMD has unveiled a new smartphone with the ability to repair it yourself. Known as the HMD Skyline, with the model number TA-1600, the smartphone comes with the ease of replacing most parts. For example, if you have a cracked screen, all you need to do, is pop off the back cover and easily remove the screws on the back to replace the screen. Aside the screen, other parts that are made easy to repair include the back cover, battery and charging port. These parts can easily be repaired and replace by a no techy person.

The HMD Skyline features a 6.55-inch P-OLED display, with a resolution 1080 x 2400 pixels. It offers a 144Hz refresh rate, 1000 nits peak brightness and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The phone comes protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is available in neon pink and twisted black color options and has a body dimension of 159.84 mm.

The HMD Skyline is powered with the Qualcomm SM7435-AB Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset and runs on Android 14. The company has promised up to 2 major Android upgrades for the device. It is available in 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage options. It storage can be expanded up to 512GB using a memory card and well as an option for Google Drive Cloud storage.
