YouTube Vanced Forced To Shut Down Over Legal Threats From Google
YouTube Vanced has announced that it will be shutting down after threats from tech giant Google. The announcement, which was made by the creator’s of the app came as a surprise to many people. The app became popular for offering premium YouTube contains for free.
According to a Vanced admin in a Discord post, a cease-and-desist letter from Google recently ordered the Vanced app authors to suspend distribution and development of their programme. Making this known via a twitter post, the app developer said;
Vanced has been discontinued. In the coming days, the download links on the website will be taken down. We know this is not something you wanted to hear, but it’s something we need to do. Thank you all for supporting us over the years.

According to the developers, current installed version of the app will work, until they become outdated in 2 years or so. YouTube Vanced become the latest third-party to be shut down by Google. It could be recalled that Groovy and Rythm was also, issued a stop and desist orders.
YouTube Vanced became popular as it offered users, access to most of the YouTube Premium features for free, including the ability to watch without advertisements, the ability to add a dislike countback to videos, and use the picture in picture (PIP) mode to play the track in the background while the application is running.
