Meet Xiaomi’s CyberOne Humanoid Bionic Robot

Chinese smartphone manufacture, Xiaomi has unveiled its first humanoid robot called CyberOne. The unveiling was done during a live event on August 11 at the launch of the company’s MIX Fold 2. According to the tech giant, CyberOne is capable of sensing emotions and has a top speed of 3.6 km/h. It is said that the humanoid robot can detect 45 different sorts of emotions from human vocal expressions.

CyberOne is the newest robot in the Xiaomi Cyber family. It comes after CyberDog, a four-legged robot dog with bionic legs. It has a face made of a curved OLED panel and has two microphones for hearing and two cameras for seeing in three dimensions. Its body can move through 21 different degrees of freedom, which are made possible by 13 joints. Its legs are propelled by motors that have a maximum torque of 300Nm, while the motors in its upper limbs have a maximum torque of 1Nm. It is said that the robot weighs 52 kilos and has a height of 1.77 meters.

Introducing CyberOne, CEO Lei Jun said,

Meet #CyberOne, our first full-size humanoid robot developed by the Xiaomi Robotics Lab. The story of #CyberOne is one of embarking on a new journey of exploration in the field of intelligent robots. We still have a long way to go, but we always believe that something wonderful is about to happen.

Lei also revealed that each CyberOne would cost about $89,100 to $104,000. CyberOne arrived on the stage holding a flower that he had given to Lei Jun, who is the CEO of Xiaomi.
